With barely any idea of what branding meant, I started BatchLife Bakery at Bryant Farmers’ Market to get my feet wet. It was small and gave me great insight into what sells and my target demographic.

From there, I moved up to the large River Market Farmers’ Market downtown. That spawned off into festivals and other local events. Lessons were learned every step of the way.

Some days, I had no sales. Others, I sold out faster than expected. You have to pay attention to WHERE your sales do their best as well as WHO’s buying. That is critical information for success.

Now, I have a permanent location where I make my own hours to better fit my life and children’s needs. Keep learning, growing, and finding creative solutions to make work fit into your life rather than the other way around.
